At first, detaching external achievement (the first-class degree) from myself was the hardest thing to do. However, once I learn to break free from the shackles. I was finally free. But, the question is how do you detach?
Detaching from external achievements
Detaching from achievements can be the most empowering but overwhelming feeling. But, don’t worry I am going to give you some actionable steps that you can implement when it comes to detachment.
Staying Grounded
Think back to a time when you were before achieving your achievements e,g if you graduated from university/college, who were you before you attended higher education? Or if you got your dream job, who were you before you were employed? What was the feeling when you did not achieve the thing? How was your mindset? Was you looking for the next best thing or a trying the navigate your new responsibilities?
This exercise will ultimately keep you grounded on exactly who you were in the past and who you are today in the present. It can be great to look for the next best thing and the accomplishments you want in the future. However, if you do not remember who you are right now or who you were, how can you enjoy the present moment now even if it doesn’t seem the best? We tend to take gratitude for granted when we are blinded by having a lack of something. Gratitude makes you more appreciative of life and all aspects. This is because when you look back at the present moment in the future you will miss everything that you once were “complaining” about.
Reading your life path number
This is my favourite step. Even if you do not believe in numerology. I think it is still fun to research. Your life path number is essentially your main purpose for the reason you are here in this world. The life path numbers go from 1 to 9, then 11, 22, or 33 in which all the number show their theme and attributes.
To calculate the double-digit, your life path number you simply add every single digit in your birth date, and if the number is a double digit you add the individual digit number together. E.g if you were born on 29th April 2000, then you do 29/04/2000 so it will be 2 + 9 + 0 + 4 + 2 = 17 then 1 + 7 = 8. Therefore, this person’s life path number is 8. Once you find your life path number, you can research it by googling the purpose of your life path number or even searching videos on different social media platforms to give you clarity.
Reading your birth chart
This is for people who love astrology but anyone can do this. When I tell you this is the most accurate thing you can research about yourself. Four years ago, I found out my birth chart and I was so shocked by the accuracy. This is completely free by the way and all you have to do is enter your birthdate and birth time (if you know it). The main elements I want you to read are:
Sun sign - your identity and ego.
Moon sign -how to cultivate your emotions and expressions.
Ascendant sign - how others perceive you in the world.
Saturn sign - the karmic lessons you need to know in this lesson.
North node sign - your life purpose.

There are so many free videos online about detachment that you find. Just type in ‘the law of detachment’ and you will find many useful videos.
